What is the role of business in creating a fairer future?

A diverse community of business leaders - all committed to building a fairer future - came together to answer this deliberately broad and provocative question as part of the Board Intelligence Think Tank's 2021 inquiry.

After over 2,000 minutes of discussion, touching on every aspect of leadership, business, the state of society, and our environment, we have some answers. Based on what we heard from experienced leaders including Baroness Patience Wheatcroft, Paul Drechsler, Sir Ken Olisa and Hetti Barkworth-Nanton, we have practical advice to offer business leaders who want to be a force for good.

Join us on Thursday 9 December 2021 when we'll share our findings, along with a panel of current and future business leaders who will reflect on what they learned and how they hope to be part of the solution.

Confirmed panellists:

Stephen Welton is the Executive Chair of BGF. Prior to this, he was the founder CEO between 2011 and 2020. Stephen began his career in banking after graduating from Durham University with a law degree. Since then, he has served as an independent director on a range of companies and joined the board of FTSE 250 Intermediate Capital Group as a NED in 2017.
Hetti Barkworth-Nanton is the Chair of Refuge and CEO of Ploughshare Innovations. She has worked at major organisations, such as British Airways, Centrica, BT and Vodafone in her career leading financial, commercial and transformation leadership.
