Company Matters, Ahead — ‘Chair and Co Sec: dream team?’: 2nd May
The strength of the relationship between the chair and the company secretary remains vital in creating an effective and efficient board. With the right relationship in place, the company secretary can act as trusted adviser to the chair and provide an important conduit between the board and the company.
Murray Steele, Chair, LINX London Internet Exchange, and Tracey Brady, Managing Director, Company Matters, will share their experiences in the boardroom and the current challenges facing both the chair and the company secretary. They’ll discuss ways in which the relationship can be strengthened and enhanced in order to create mutual benefit.
We’ll be attending the session, and you can get in touch if you’d like to join us.
ICSA — Isle of Man Conference: 9th May
As regulation of financial services continues to tighten and political uncertainty in the UK and Europe creates greater instability in the market, company secretaries and governance professionals on the Isle of Man have an opportunity to take the wheel and be at the forefront of thinking, innovation and technology in governance, risk and compliance.
ICSA’s Isle of Man conference takes on the theme ‘Managing Risk, Leading Change’ and reflects the bold role that the Isle of Man can play in the governance environment. Delegates will benefit from expert input on topics including: stakeholder engagement, GDPR, the common reporting standard and personal development.

Reimagining Board Reporting: 24th May
Most companies automate at least one step of their board reporting by using a board portal to compile and distribute packs. But the complete reporting process doesn’t begin or stop here, and neither should its digitalisation.
Join our Reimagining Board Reporting breakfast to learn how leading Company Secretary teams implement technology to streamline operations from agenda planning to collating papers, hear new research on the challenges and costs associated with board reporting and how you could save £50,000—£500,000 by implementing some simple but material changes.
Places are limited to 10 attendees per session so please be sure to register early.
