No. All three work independently — you can start with whichever product fits your most pressing need. Report Writer runs inside Microsoft Word as an add-in. Minute Writer and Board Surveys are accessed through their own dedicated interfaces. If you do use Portal, they integrate with it for a connected workflow across the full board cycle — but it's not a prerequisite.

Report Writer helps executives draft those papers. Portal brings everything together — compiling packs, distributing materials, and giving directors access on any device. All AI features are clearly labelled throughout the platform. AI is only enabled when your organisation has agreed to its use, and every AI output is presented as a starting point — your people review, refine, and own the final result.

Board materials are among the most sensitive documents in any organisation. Our AI architecture is designed for trust on three levels.

Your data is safe. Data is held in temporary memory only during processing by the AI. Once results are returned, no record is kept — your data is never saved and never used for model improvement. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, fully isolated at the project level, and segregated between organisations. Where appropriate, personal data is pseudonymised before processing. Our information security management system is ISO 27001 audited.

The outputs are reliable. We don't send your documents to a single AI model and hope for the best. Our architecture breaks complex tasks into smaller, verifiable steps with checks at key points — ensuring accuracy and predictability. We select the best model for each task, craft bespoke prompts informed by our consulting methodology, and have our boardroom consultants review output quality on an ongoing basis.

When AI is enabled, every feature is clearly identified and accompanied by training resources. Every AI output is labelled and requires explicit user action to adopt. No AI feature runs silently or makes decisions on your behalf.

We can have your platform configured and ready within 24 business hours, though we typically recommend allowing at least two weeks to ensure a smooth rollout — particularly if you're migrating from another portal provider, where we'll advise on which packs to transition and handle secure data migration.
