About the author

Emma Priestley is Chief Marketing Officer at Board Intelligence. She writes on a wide range of governance and leadership issues, including board information, board meetings, board technology, AI, and board effectiveness.

Emma has been with Board Intelligence since 2011 and has established, led, and grown teams across the firm, holding roles such as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Customer Officer, and Company Secretary.

She has co-authored a fortnightly column in the Financial Times and was a founding member of the governance think tank ‘The Board is Dead. Long Live the Board’, which saw her lead workshops and roundtables with FTSE 100 Chairs, board directors, executives, and governance leaders. She has served as a Regional Council Member with the Confederation of British Industry, representing the interests of businesses based in London. 

Emma has a Masters degree in Philosophy & Theology from the University of Edinburgh.
